As a college professor, Crystal Shadd has an extensive background in the fitness and health promotion field both academically and by experience. She is not a stranger to athletics herself with a bio of competing for Canada for 11 years in the sport of track and field (triple jump, 200m, and heptathlon). She held the Jr. Canadian National record for the triple jump for several years and still holds several Provincial and high school records in the 100m, 200m, triple jump and long jump. Crystal was offered over 15 different scholarships all from different division 1 colleges for the sports of basketball, volleyball and track and field. In her days of training she trained with top world class athletes and coaches in both track and field and in weight training. She also coached and attended many world class symposiums at the Olympic Training Center in San Diego, California and US Jr. Olympic development camps.
Crystal’s personal training background includes training several professional & amateur athletes (basketball, football, hockey, boxing, baseball, soccer, track & field, bodybuilding, etc.). She has also trained many clients who were not athletes but were training for weight loss, muscle gains, toning, maintenance, posture correction, special populations and recreational competitors. As a professor at Conestoga College she has trained many who have become trainers (academically and physically) in the fitness and health promotion program in the first couple of years of its existence.
